Kaplan would be protective of his friends, but also of anyone else who'd need his help. He doesn't discriminate against other factions, and only judges someone once he's gotten to really know them. Outwardly, he can appear quiet, serious, hot-tempered, and like an adrenaline junkie who cares only about living life to the fullest. Once you get to know him, you'll see he's kind, can be funny, and that he cares about protecting the weak more than having fun.

Enemies
He'd probably make a few. If he saw an injustice of any kind, he wouldn't hesitate to act; ironically, he's be just as violent as the offender, if not more. However, he doesn't necessarily go looking for trouble. He like peace, but will fight for it if necessary.

Once Estelle joins the dauntless, her personality will alter a tad. But I could definitely see these two getting along just fine; wouldn't expect them to instantly connect and befriend one another but perhaps share a conversation from time to time and cooperate in a few things, even though she prefers to work individually. Since she's still in abnegation for the time being, perhaps they could meet during the initiation (once that begins) or at school? Though I think the latter wouldn't be as interesting as the first option.
